Knoll Side Table by Eero Saarinen – White

Finnish-American architect and industrial designer Eero Saarinen considered table and chair legs “confusing and unrestful,” so he conceived a collection that replaced them with a single, slender pedestal. One of the defining icons of mid-century modern design, Saarinen’s Side Table features a beveled-edge top made from satin-smooth laminate. The base is made from a heavy molded cast aluminum with white paint. The Saarinen Side Table is made for indoor use and measures 20h x 20”diam. with a 1” thick top. It weighs 16 lbs. Both Eero Saarinen and the table’s manufacturer, Knoll, are represented in MoMA’s collection.
