The editor, Alfred H. Barr, Jr., states in his introduction that the illustrations are intended primarily to give pleasure, but this is no mere picture book. Published in 1956, this rare book from MoMA Publications is available in extremely limited quantities. Each book from this special selection has been stored for decades in MoMA’s warehouse.
