This skateboard features a reproduction of Color Flower Pattern (2024) by Mickalene Thomas, an artist represented in MoMA’s collection. For 20 years, Thomas has been celebrating women of color and the power of the female gaze through her work. Color Flower Pattern is derived from Thomas’ childhood memories.

 
The Mickalene Color Flower Pattern Skateboard is produced by The Skateroom, a platform for promoting, selling and producing art on skateboards that supports youth-empowering organizations. The triptych is made from seven-ply Canadian maple wood and measures 32h x 8.25w x 0.5″d.
