Blackwing x Eames Pencil Set

Charles and Ray Eames taught generations of design students about learning through first-hand experience and curious exploration. One of their favorite design tools was the iconic Blackwing pencil, which could be found in great numbers at their studio, 901 Washington in Venice, California. The original Blackwing 602—with its distinctive rectangular eraser that can be extendable or replaceable—was introduced by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company in 1934 and was aimed at artists, writers, and musicians for everyday use. It quickly became a favorite of many famous artists of the day and was known for being “feathery-smooth.”
