Inspired by classic Starting Lineup figures, this Bravo toy figurine—designed by Nina Chanel Abney, an artist with work in MoMA’s collection—celebrates the everyday icon, the local star, the hero at home. Sculpted in Abney’s bold, cubist-influenced style, Bravo captures a familiar figure in motion, mid-jump shot, with a bright orange basketball held high. 

The Bravo figure features angular limbs, simplified geometry, and exaggerated proportions, that reflect Abney’s signature visual language while honoring the quiet exceptionalism found in ordinary people. Dressed in red athletic shorts and white sneakers marked with black Xs, Bravo isn’t a professional athlete, but the one who never missed at the rec center—the cousin, the neighbor, the friend who played like the pros. Each figure comes packaged in a custom box featuring Abney’s illustrated motifs—faces, hands, and the word “SCORE”—with a glossy ARR Authentication sticker placed on the back.
